Oncomatryx Convenes Its Scientific Advisory Board to Review OMTX705 and Its Next-Generation ADC Pipeline

The company’s scientific advisors met in Bilbao to assess the clinical progress of its lead candidate, the Quantum ADC platform and the design of bispecific ADCs, and to help define the next steps of its R&D strategy.

DERIO, 6th October 2026 – Oncomatryx gathered its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) in Derio on 30 September. The SAB brings together the external scientists who advise the company on its research, and the meeting had a clear purpose: to share the progress and achievements of Oncomatryx’s R&D programs, discuss them with the advisors and gather their feedback in order to align on the company’s strategy and next steps.

CEO Laureano Simón opened the session and welcomed the attendees before handing over to Chief Scientific Officer Myriam Fabre, who set the scene with the current state and outlook of the company’s OMTX ADCs. From there, the day was organized in three blocks:

The first one was devoted to OMTX705, the company’s lead candidate, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) directed against the tumor microenvironment and already in Phase Ib-II clinical trials at leading hospitals in Spain and the United States. Chief Medical Officer Ignacio García presented the status of the trial and the development plan, and Patricia González, Translational Science R&D Director, explained the candidate’s mechanism of action and the biomarkers used to select patients.

The second block looked beyond OMTX705 to the Quantum ADCs, the company’s next generation of FAP-targeted ADCs. Isabel Egaña, NextGen ADCs R&D Director, presented the next candidate in line, and the intelligent ADCs that will follow it. The chemistry team of Quimatryx, the company’s chemistry subsidiary, presented by Yosu Vara and Julie Movellan, then presented the new superlinkers that join the antibody to its payload, and Andoni Berbel, AI Director, explained how the company uses artificial intelligence and quantum computing tools that help us in the process.

The third block, led by Professor Roland Kontermann of the University of Stuttgart, addressed bispecific ADCs and antibodies  and chemistry related to the cytotoxic payload with Wolfgang Richter. The last session before the closing considerations, by Ana Soloaga, Fibrosis & Women’s Health R&D Director, explored potential applications of the company’s FAP-targeted ADCs beyond oncology.

For Oncomatryx, the meeting was an opportunity to put its programs in front of its scientific advisors and gather their expert feedback. That feedback is what allows the company to align its strategic priorities, set the next steps for each program and define its future development pathways, as it advances its mission of bringing new therapeutic options to the patients who need them.

About Oncomatryx

Oncomatryx is a Spanish biopharmaceutical company, headquartered in the Basque Country with a global outlook, that pioneered targeting metastatic solid tumors through their microenvironment rather than the tumor epithelial cell. The company has also built a platform designed to generate multiple candidates and advance them through clinical proof of concept for licensing to major pharmaceutical companies, spanning the full cycle of research, clinical development and in-house manufacturing that today defines industry leaders.

Oncomatryx is the only biotech company designated strategic by Spain’s Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and has received in 2025 an EIC Accelerator grant from the European Union, one of five life sciences companies selected out of 950 applicants.
